When to Visit Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan is a year-round destination in theory, but the mountains dictate the calendar. Here's what each season means for adventure travel.
Peak Season
June – SeptemberAll 27 tours available. Snow-free passes, full yurt-camp season, best weather for high-altitude trekking. Ala-Kul, Son-Kul and Altyn-Arashan are at their most accessible. Book early — July and August fill up fast.

- Nomadic jailoo (summer pasture) life active
- Day temperatures 15–25°C at altitude
Shoulder Season
April–May & OctoberRoad trips and lower-altitude horse riding are excellent. High passes may still have snow in April–May. Autumn colours in October are outstanding. Crowds minimal, prices lower.

- Variable weather — layers essential
Off Season
November – MarchMountain passes closed by snow. Bishkek and Issyk-Kul city visits are possible. Suitable for cultural tours or city stays only — we do not run mountain or horse-riding tours in winter.
