Overview

The Juuku Valley and Dungurumo Pass trek is one of the most pristine routes on Issyk-Kul's south shore — three days through territory where you are likely to see Marco Polo sheep, golden eagles, and marmots but very few other people.

The route climbs from the Juuku valley trailhead through forests and glacier-fed terrain before crossing Dungurumo Pass at 3,800m — wild country with no shepherds and extraordinary views. The descent connects to the famous Barskoon valley, finishing at Barskoon waterfall.

A CBT Bokonbaevo partner route, operating with local guides and supporting the community directly. Pack support is included so you hike with a day pack only.
