Kel-Suu Lake Horse Expedition

RARE
Duration 6 days
Difficulty Challenging
Max Altitude 3,000 m
Season June – Sep
Group Size 2–6
Starts Naryn

Overview

Kel-Suu is one of the most dramatic landscapes in Kyrgyzstan — a turquoise lake trapped between vertical canyon walls in the remote At-Bashy district, reachable only by horse or on foot. This six-day expedition is the definitive way to experience it.

Starting from Naryn, the route moves through an increasingly dramatic canyon landscape before arriving at Kel-Suu on day four. The colour of the water — vivid turquoise against pale limestone walls — is extraordinary and unlike any other lake in the country.

Maximum group size is six. The remoteness of the route requires experienced riding — this is not a tour for first-time riders. Emergency communication equipment is carried throughout.
