Overview

The Eki-Ashuu (Two Pass) route is among the most demanding and rewarding horse treks on the south shore — a 5-to-7-day circuit that crosses two passes above 4,000m and visits some of the most remote country accessible from Bokonbaevo.

Tong-Ashuu at 4,023m is the highest point — a long climb rewarded by twin panoramas of Issyk-Kul and the Tien Shan. Teshik-Kul lake, abundant with fish, provides a rest day mid-route. The descent via Tosor-Ashuu at 3,893m connects to the Boz Salkyn yurt camp near the sacred Tashtarata mountain before the return to Bokonbaevo. The 7-day version adds a rest day at either Teshik-Kul or Boz Salkyn.
