7-Day Nomadic Way Horse Journey

POPULAR
Duration 7 days
Difficulty Moderate
Max Altitude 3,400 m
Season June – Sep
Group Size 2–8
Starts Kochkor

Overview

Seven days on horseback through the valleys and passes of central Kyrgyzstan — moving camp each night as nomadic families have done for centuries. This is the most immersive way to experience Kyrgyz culture short of staying permanently.

The route runs from Kochkor through remote valleys, crossing passes with panoramic views, reaching Son-Kul plateau for the culminating two days. Along the way you encounter eagle hunters in their home village, learn to drink kumiss at the right pace, and move through landscapes that feel genuinely untouched.

No previous riding experience required. The pace is set by the slowest rider in the group and adjusted daily. The horses are selected to match your experience level.
