Horse Riding
Ara Bel Valley & Tong Ashuu Pass
STANDARDOverview
The Ara Bel and Tong Ashuu route is one of the most scenically varied horse riding tours on the south shore — five days that cross one of the highest passes in the area (Tong Ashuu, 4,000m) and traverse both the glacier-fed Burkan valley and the geothermal Jyluu Suu hot springs.
Starting from Bokonbaevo, the route climbs into the Ara Bel valley before the demanding Tong Ashuu crossing on day three — with panoramas of both Issyk-Kul to the north and the Tien Shan ranges to the south. The descent to Jyluu Suu on day four rewards with natural hot spring pools, before the final ride back to Bokonbaevo.
